Movement in safety

Horse walker

Part of the basic training can be done with the help of training equipment.

A horse walker provides a safe and versatile way to train your horses. This can make training more efficient, leaving more time for individual training sessions. Horses naturally need movement and social contact. Depending on the type of walker, you can give multiple horses exercise at the same time.

A horse walker is a good way to keep your horses healthy and fit. The walker ensures that the horses exercise regularly, which is important for their stamina, circulation, bones, muscles and tendons.

With the control panel, you can set the speed, duration and direction of movement.

Horse in training

Training equipment forms part of your horse’s overall schooling and has a positive effect on its daily training session. Training equipment also ensures that your horse’s physical condition is maintained and that its muscles remain supple.

Training

During exercise, lactic acid accumulates in the horse’s muscles. When the horse stops moving altogether after a training session, it can take up to three hours for the blood to eliminate the lactic acid. A proper warming-up and cooling-down will eliminate the lactic acid almost twice as fast. At the start of the next training session, the horse’s muscles will be less stiff.

Exercise

Exercising the horse on a daily basis is good for its muscles, tendons, sinews and joints and thus reduces the risk of injuries.

Safety

The safety of both horse and rider is paramount. Depending on your horses’ behavior and the goals of your training, you will need to make conscious choices, such as walk and trot speeds, duration of leading the horses left and right, and ease of handling.
